Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was in action for AC Milan on Sunday evening, putting in an impressive shift as the Rossoneri were held to a 1-1 draw by Sassuolo in their Serie A encounter at the Mapei Stadium.

The Nigerian international, who was making his sixth league appearance of the campaign, continued his steady development under the tactical setup, having already bagged two assists so far this season.

Chukwueze troubled the Sassuolo defense with his pace and direct running throughout the contest before being substituted in the 85th minute for Hutchinson as Milan pushed for a late winner.

Following a scoreless first half, which saw Milan forced into an early tactical change when Koni De Winter replaced the injured Matteo Gabbia, the match ignited shortly after the interval.

Midfielder Adrien Rabiot broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 63rd minute, finishing sharply after being set up by substitute Luka Modrić.

However, Milan’s lead lasted only four minutes.

Sassuolo responded swiftly when defender Cas Odenthal rose to equalize in the 67th minute, latching onto a set-piece situation to beat Mike Maignan and spark wild celebrations among the home faithful.

Despite late pressure from the Rossoneri, including tactical tweaks introducing fresh legs like Ardon Jashari and Alphadjo Cisse, Fabio Grosso’s Sassuolo defensive block stood firm to secure a hard-earned point.
