Prabhas’ ‘Spirit’ may miss March 2027 release amid reported delay

Pan-India star Prabhas is currently working on his upcoming cop action drama ‘Spriti’ joining hands with ‘Animal’ fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film is announced to hit the big screens on March 5 next year. However, if the latest reports are to be believed, the film is set to miss its scheduled theatrical release on March 5, 2027.

According to the latest buzz, the makers are now considering a later release window.

‘Spirit’ reportedly to miss its release date

According to a report by Variety India, the postponement comes as Prabhas’ other upcoming film, ‘Fauzi’, is also said to be undergoing a change in its release schedule. However, the makers of ‘Spirit’ have not officially confirmed the delay or announced a new release date.The makers had publicly announced March 5, 2027, as the release date earlier this year.

In August, Vanga reiterated that the film was on schedule and revealed that the team had completed a 40-day shooting schedule, with another 65 days of filming remaining.The latest report suggests that the release plans may have changed since then. However, the specific reasons behind the reported postponement remain unclear.

About the film ‘Spirit’

Speaking of ‘Spirit’, the film marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Prabhas will be seen playing a police officer in the film who has “one bad habit”. The film also stars Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj in key roles.The first look, released at the end of 2025, introduced Prabhas in a rugged, bruised avatar, with Triptii Dimri appearing alongside him.

Release details of ‘Spirit’ and ‘Fauzi’

Meanwhile, Prabhas’ period action film ‘Fauzi’, directed by ‘Sita Ramam’ fame Hanu Raghavapudi, was initially expected to release in December 2026.

It is now reportedly targeting March 18, 2027.If both reported dates are retained, ‘Fauzi’ and ‘Spirit’ could arrive close together, potentially requiring further adjustments to Prabhas’ release calendar.Talking about Prabhas’ upcoming lineup, he also has some large-scale projects including ‘Kalki 2898 AD Part 2’ and ‘Salaar Part 2’ in his pipeline.For now, ‘Spirit’ has no officially announced replacement date. The reported postponement remains unconfirmed by the production team.
