Maliya Boys set for Port Harcourt showdown

Unbeaten Rivers United host Barau at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday in one of the biggest games of Matchday nine, with the league’s best defence set to meet one of its most attacking sides.

The Pride of Rivers are the only team yet to lose in the league. They are second on 16 points after four wins and four draws from eight matches, one point behind leaders Rangers on 17.

They drew 0-0 with Abia Warriors last weekend, and they have conceded just two goals all season while scoring 13.

They have been formidable at home and remain one of the league’s most difficult teams to beat.

The Maliya Boys travel to Port Harcourt in good spirits. They are fifth on 13 points with three wins and have scored 12 goals. After a 4-1 defeat to Bendel Insurance, they held Rangers to a thrilling 2-2 draw and came close to taking all three points.

Barau have proved resilient and will not sit back, which promises a competitive battle between a strong defence and a strong attack.
