“Cagliari Calcio announce that the player Yael Trepy is currently hospitalised in the intensive care unit at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari,” the Rossoblu said on Monday.

As reported by Gazzetta and other Italian sources, the player nearly drowned in a swimming pool in Porto Cervo and was taken to hospital by helicopter.
Cagliari players had been given two days off after Friday’s Coppa Italia match against Arezzo, in which Trepy had started and played 54 minutes.
Cagliari players were due to return to training today ahead of their Serie A season opener against Parma next weekend.
Trepy is a French striker who joined the Cagliari youth sector from US Créteil in 2023.

He made his Serie A debut last season, scoring one goal in eight appearances in Italy’s top flight.
