Euromatch NPFL: Yusuf Assures Shooting Stars Will Improve After Slow Start
Shooting Stars Technical Adviser Salisu Yusuf is confident his side will recover from their difficult start to the season.
The Oluyole Warriors have managed just two wins from their opening six league matches this season, and were also knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup in the preliminary round by Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.
Shooting Stars’ poor run continued on Sunday when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Nasarawa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The result saw the former champions drop into the relegation zone.

However, Yusuf remains optimistic that the team will turn things around as the season progresses.
“Football is very emotional. Personally, I’m not happy with the outcome of the game against Nasarawa United,” Yusuf told 3SCFANTV.
“What we are asking from the fans is their understanding. Things are going to be fine.
“We have only played six games in the season, with more games to come. We just need to be patient because, when it comes to being on the continent, it is not always about the best starter but the best finisher that matters.”
Shooting Stars will have an opportunity to return to winning ways when they host Kano Pillars in a rescheduled league fixture on Wednesday.
