‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun recently celebrated the birthday of filmmaker VV Vinayak as he turned 52 on Friday. The actor called the director an “elder brother” and thanked him for teaching him important lessons in life.Taking to his X handle, Allu Arjun wished the filmmaker on his special day and praised his contribution to commercial cinema.

“Many many happy returns of the day to the commercial blockbuster director, VV Vinayak garu. He is not just a director to me. He is like an elder brother who has taught me many important foundations in life. Happy Birthday, Annaya,” he wrote.

Allu Arjun and VV Vinayak worked together on ‘Bunny’

The actor and director worked together on the 2005 Telugu film ‘Bunny’.

Released in 2005, the film was one of the commercial hits of that year in Telugu cinema. The film featured Allu Arjun in the lead role alongside Gowri Munjal, Prakash Raj and Mukesh Rishi.For the unversed, Allu Arju is also referred as Bunny by his fans, friends and family. Interestingly, he was given the childhood nickname "Bunny" by his family and with the 2005 film, it gained wider public and fan recognition.

VV Vinayak’s last directorial was ‘Chatrapathi’

Talking about the director’s work, VV Vinayak last directed the Hindi film ‘Chatrapathi’, which marked Bellamkonda Sreenivas' Hindi film debut.

The actor played the titular role in the film, which also featured Nushrat Bharucha, Bhagyashree, Sharad Kelkar, Freddy Daruwala, Karan Singh Chhabra, Rajendra Gupta and Rajesh Sharma.

Allu Arjun is working on his next film ‘Raaka’

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is currently working on his upcoming film ‘Raaka’, directed by Atlee. The project is being developed as a science-fiction action drama and is currently in production.The film features Deepika Padukone as the female lead. Reports have also linked Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Aishwarya Lekshmi to the project.On Allu Arjun's birthday this year, the makers unveiled the film's title and first-look poster. He has a bold new avatar with a bald look and sharp features. He has kohl-lined eyes, a receding hairline, and a thick grey beard. He covers part of his face with a clawed hand and stares straight.The makers are yet to announce the release date.
