Este domingo, 4 de octubre del 2026 los ciudadanos volverán a las urnas para participar en las elecciones municipales y regionales, una jornada en la que el sufragio tiene carácter obligatorio. Mientras se acerca la hora de acudir a los centros de votación, también crece la atención sobre las consecuencias de no cumplir con este deber ciudadano. El Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE) contempla sanciones económicas para quienes no voten. La misma obligación alcanza a los ciudadanos designados como miembros de mesa que no cumplan con su función.
