Power Rangers Officially Returns With Original Lineup For New Game

James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.
Bearing in mind it started life as a relatively small scope show, it really is amazing to see just how far Power Rangers has come over the last 30 years or so. The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers run has rightfully earned its place in history, but since then we've had a new release almost every year, in a remarkable testament to the IP's popularity.
Whether you're into the dinosaur-focused iterations of the show, or you prefer it when they get all galactic and head into the reaches of space aboard a ship, there's been a little something for everyone over the years. That said, the original run is still the most legendary in the eyes of most, and a new adaptation is about to bring it to life in a whole new medium.
As first reported by Backseat Gamer, Renegade Game Studios has announced the upcoming release of Power Rangers: Impossible Odds, a co-operative dice game where you and your friends work together to take on your enemies. In letting fans know what to expect, the manufacturer shared a brief statement, which also confirms the bosses you'll be taking on:
"Coming in 2027 is the Power Rangers Impossible Odds Dice Game! In Power Rangers: Impossible Odds, players join together to take down one of four bosses: Goldar, Terror Toad, Chunky Chicken, or Knasty Knight You’ll use various power-ups to manipulate your dice to take out Puttys and defeat the bosses."
It's certainly a stellar lineup, and the game essentially functions as a classic dice roller, with some Power Rangers-themed amendments to help tip the scales in your favor. The big one is that power-ups let you change and rework your rolls in certain situations, so if you're luck's out for a while, you can find viable paths to victory.
This also serves as the second game tied to the IP from Renegade Game Studios after Heroes of the Grid and the Power Rangers Roleplaying Game. Both of those are very solid by all accounts, so there's every hope that this next effort could carry that flame forward well.
The future for Power Rangers fans is a little up in the air, after a planned live-action reboot series developed by Hasbro Entertainment and 20th Television for Disney+ was officially shelved and canceled in August 2026. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be too much happening, so let's hope the legendary series returns before too long.

Power Rangers is a long-running multimedia franchise that debuted in 1993 with the TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Created by Haim Saban and adapted from the Japanese Super Sentai series, Power Rangers became a cultural phenomenon by combining action-packed footage from Super Sentai with new scenes featuring American actors. The franchise follows teams of young heroes who transform into Power Rangers to battle various villains, using martial arts, special powers, and giant mechas called Zords. Over the decades, the franchise has expanded into multiple TV series, films, comics, video games, and merchandise, becoming one of the most successful children's franchises in the world.
