Foundation lauds Oluremi Tinubu’s humanitarian interventions

The Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation has commended the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, for what it described as her humanitarian interventions targeted at women, children, young people and other vulnerable Nigerians.

The Renewed Hope Initiative has focused its interventions on women, children, young people and vulnerable Nigerians through programmes covering education, healthcare, economic empowerment, agriculture, food security and social investment.

The Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Esther Tonlagha, stated this in a statement issued to mark the 66th birthday of Senator Tinubu.

Tonlagha said the interventions reflected Tinubu’s efforts to use her office to promote opportunities for Nigerians, particularly vulnerable groups.

She said the RHI’s focus on women and the girl-child had included initiatives aimed at improving access to education, skills acquisition and economic opportunities, while also providing support to vulnerable families and communities.

“Your humanitarian efforts have also provided support to women entrepreneurs, young people, students and disadvantaged Nigerians, reinforcing your belief that empowering individuals is essential to building stronger families and a prosperous nation,” she said.

Tonlagha also commended Tinubu’s advocacy for women and the girl-child, saying the interventions had placed emphasis on education, empowerment and support for vulnerable Nigerians.

She described the RHI as an avenue through which Tinubu had pursued what she characterised as compassion, empowerment and positive social change since assuming office.

The foundation’s CEO said the initiative’s areas of intervention aligned with her organisation’s own focus on education, agriculture, food security, scholarships, vocational training and the empowerment of women, youths and vulnerable households.

Tonlagha also recalled Tinubu’s visit to Delta State, describing it as a “historic homecoming visit” that reaffirmed her connection with people in the Niger Delta.

She said the foundation identified with Tinubu’s vision because of its shared interest in improving the welfare and opportunities available to vulnerable groups.

Tonlagha commended the humanitarian efforts of the president’s wife and wished her continued strength and fulfilment in service to Nigerians.
