Noma Dumezweni Joins Apple TV Series ‘Disavowed’ As Series Regular

EXCLUSIVE: The cast of Apple TV‘s Disavowed is growing by one more with the addition of Noma Dumezweni (The Undoing, Murderbot) as a series regular. Details regarding who she will play are under wraps.

From Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Disavowed follows legendary CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin (James Marsden), who is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing his colleague. Disgraced and outcast from the world of intelligence, all bets are off when Brad decides to go after the $15 million federal bounty on the assassin’s head.

In addition to Dumezweni, the expanding cast also includes Norman Reedus, Sylvia Hoeks and Bokeem Woodbine.

Hailing from Apple Studios, the series is executive produced by Marcum & Holloway, Tom Spezialy, Michelle MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs and Marsden. Blue Marble Pictures (Pachinko) produces, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity serving as executive producers. MacLaren (The Morning Show, Breaking Bad) will direct the first two episodes and serve as executive producer alongside Hobbs under her overall deal with Apple TV.

Dumezweni will next be seen in Susanna White’s film adaptation of Prima Face opposite Cynthia Erivo, as well as reprising her role on Season 2 of the Apple series Murderbot. She will be recurring in Peacock’s Dig and the recently released Ryan Murphy FX series The Shards. Dumezweni was recently featured in Apple TV+’s limited series Presumed Innocent, The Friend, Season 3 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and the Netflix series, The Watcher. Additional notable credits: HBO’s The Undoing, HBO Max’s Made for Love, and the features The Little Mermaid and Retribution.
