Nicolas Cage is not staying silent.
Cage has finally opened up about the cancellation of Prime Video's Spider-Noir and went as far as to say that he's "probably not going to be working with that studio again." During New York Comic Con, the actor called out Amazon for its contracts and waivers, which the actor said he doesn't agree to. According to Cage, the company required the actor to sign a waiver and allow AI to be used on the series. While it hasn't been confirmed why Amazon cancelled the series, it appears the actor has some idea as to why.
"Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion invested in OpenAI. I am not an AI-friendly actor, so it’s like, connect those dots! I’m not a member of their club. I didn’t sign the waiver to let him use AI on ‘Spider Noir.’ I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again, but that’s okay."
