A first-look trailer for Apple TV's upcoming heist drama 12 12 12 shows Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan ready for the action. The eight-episode series sees Marvel star Mackie play an FBI agent embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game across Europe with Dornan's criminal mastermind.

The series weaves three different timelines to tell the story of a bank vault raid, including 12 months of planning the heist, the 12 hours of the crime itself, and the aftermath that plays out across 12 days.

A synopsis teases: "The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Anthony Mackie) and an American career criminal (Jamie Dornan) as they play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the centre of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich."

The show's first two episodes land on Apple TV on Friday, 13 November, with the following six releasing weekly until the finale on Christmas Day.

The 12 12 12 cast is rounded out by Claws' Jack Kesy, Titane's Agathe Rousselle, Blade Runner 2049's Sallie Harmsen, Full Speed's José Garcia, and True Detective: Night Country's Kali Reis.

The show was created and executive produced by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble, with Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning Kari Skogland directing several episodes. It's not the first time Skogland and Mackie have worked together, having previously collaborated on Disney+'s 2021 series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Mackie is set to reprise his role as Captain America this year in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.

Dornan, meanwhile, has been announced to star as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which is currently in production. Andy Serkis, who is directing the film and is also reprising his role of Sméagol/Gollum, described Dornan's performance as "fantastic".

The Fifty Shades of Grey actor recently landed the lead role on another Apple TV project alongside Zoë Kravitz, which will be directed by Sterling Point creator Megan Park.

12 12 12 premieres on Apple TV on Friday, November 13.
