Chloë Sevigny Joins HBO’s True-Crime Limited Series ‘The Trial Of Louise Woodward’

EXCLUSIVE: Chloë Sevigny (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story) is the newest addition to HBO‘s new true-crime limited series, The Trial of Louise Woodward.

She joins a cast featuring Catriona Chandler in the title role, which also so far includes Joanne Froggatt, Meghann Fahy and Sagar Radia.

Created by Matthew Barry, who serves as showrunner, writer and exec producer, The Trial of Louise Woodward tells the shocking true story of how, in 1997, an 18-year-old British au pair (Chandler) was accused of shaking to death a baby left in her care by her American host family, setting off an international media firestorm as the trial unfolds in full view of both the British and American public.

Sevigny is set to play Louise’s defense attorney, Elaine Whitfield Sharp. Froggatt plays Louise’s mother, Susan, with Fahy and Radia as Deborah and Sunil Eappen — parents of the victim, Matthew Eappen.

Other exec producers on The Trial include Susanne Bier, who directs all episodes, as well as Frank Spotnitz, Emily Feller, Tobi de Graaff, and Antoine Douaihy. Big Light Productions and Anton TV are the production companies.

Sevigny can currently be seen starring in Peacock’s drama series The Five-Star Weekend, which quickly secured the streamer’s biggest scripted series launch of all time before being renewed for a second season. Last year, she earned her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role of Kitty Menendez in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. She is represented by WME and Circle Management + Production.
