Michael Douglas gives rare update on Jack Nicholson as he says the actor has "disappeared"

Legendary actor Jack Nicholson has rarely been seen in public over recent months, leaving many speculating over his wellbeing.
But now, for the first time his long-time friend and former Hollywood co-star Michael Douglas has broken his silence and given a rare update about his pal, saying [via The Independent]: “I would have liked to have acted with Jack. He’s not working any more. He’s well. He has disappeared. I know that.”
During a promotional tour of his latest memoir One Helluva Ride, the actor revealed that Nicholson is swanning around his sprawling mansion: “I still see him, but he is fine. He is up there by his house and walking around in his slippers. It happens."

Douglas was then quick to add that he deserves his time of rest as the iconic star is approaching his 90th birthday next April, saying: "He deserves it. I understand. He is a few years older than me, but I understand."
Douglas, who is married to Welsh actor Catherine Zeta-Jones revealed his update on his close pal Jack while in Swansea, Wales.
Jack Nicholson's last film before his well earned rest was titled How Do You Know back in 2010.
Nicholson's career took off when Douglas produced the classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in 1975 and then went on to star in a number of iconic movie roles including Batman and The Shining.
While Douglas has been happily married to the Welsh actor for nearly three decades and share two children with her, he recently recalled the moment he had to break up with five women, when he first started dating Zeta-Jones.

During an interview on The Graham Norton Show he was asked if he was left alarmed at the number of women he had been romantically linked to. And in response, he said: "I was a little surprised! It was very easy to get comfortable with co-stars and sometimes that got carried away."
He continued: "When I courted Catherine [Zeta-Jones] she told me, ‘If we are doing this, you need to clean your act up.’ I was divorced and seeing some other people at the time, so I had to call five women to break things off."
Making the choice to pen his latest memoir where he lifts the lid on his private life in great detail, he added: "I thought it was probably time. My dad [Kirk Douglas] wrote nine books including a great autobiography, so I started thinking about legacy. It was fabulous going back. I had forgotten so much.
"There were so many stories about the movies I have made but then the producer in me took over and I thought, 'Let’s just go for the dirt!'"
