Bangladesh will be playing the ODI tri series against Zimbabwe and UAE without its captain Litton Das.
Litton, who is the team’s white ball skipper, has been ruled out of the series, which began on Saturday, due to a hip injury.
“Litton Das came to us with a right hip joint complain,” said Bangladesh team physio Bayezid Islam Khan. “We did an MRI report which told us something was wrong. Litton still tried to take a fitness test today but couldn’t match the benchmark, so he is not available for this series.”
Litton had only been made full-time ODI captain in July.
In his absence, Towihd Hridoy will step in as stand-in skipper as the Tigers began the series against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi.
Bangladesh is also without Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the series, who has been suffering from fever over the last few days.
