Shreyas Iyer hammered a 42-ball century to help India get over the line in the opening T20I vs West Indies  •  BCCI

India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has jumped three places in the T20I batting rankings to move to the fourth position on the list. That means three of the top four spots on the rankings charts are now occupied by Indian batters, with Ishan Kishan leading the way and Abhishek Sharma a close second.

Iyer smashed his maiden T20I century in the opening T20I against West Indies in Lucknow, and followed it up with an 18-ball 40 in the second game in Ranchi. Tilak Varma has also moved up one spot in the T20I rankings chart to No. 9, making it five Indian batters in the top ten.

Shai Hope, who recorded a century in the Ranchi T20I to take his side to a win, has also moved two spots to 11th on the rankings charts, while Sherfane Rutherford has moved to a career-best 24th spot on the rankings table.

On the Test front, Aiden Markram, following his stubborn second-innings half-century against Australia in Durban, moves up four places from 14th to return to the top ten of the batting charts for the first time since October 2019.

Australia batter Matt Renshaw has, meanwhile, catapulted a remarkable 147 places on the rankings charts, moving from 196th to joint-49th in the Test batting rankings. Renshaw had a stellar Test match against South Africa, scoring 190 and 82 to help Australia score a commanding 214-run victory.

Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, who was instrumental in Durban, picking up career-best figures of 6 for 49 in the second innings, has moved up two places to seventh in the Test bowling rankings. Mitchell Starc continues to lead the rankings, but his lead has been cut to just four rating points over New Zealand's Matt Henry, despite Starc taking three wickets in the Test.
