Salman Agha smashes triple century in domestic competition days after Pakistan Test team axing

Salman Ali Agha smashed an unbeaten 300 off 336 balls for Kingsmen Academy against Markhor IT Solutions in the first round of the President’s Trophy, a domestic red-ball tournament in Pakistan.

The T20I captain recorded his highest First-Class score just days after being sent home from Pakistan’s tour of England.

Salman was the stand-in captain for the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, following an arm injury to Babar Azam during the tour match.

He scored 25 runs across two innings as Pakistan resigned to a defeat by an innings and 103 runs. He was part of a wholesale reshuffle ahead of the third Test, which also saw head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul relieved of their duties.

In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the 32-year-old said he was able to score due to the “adjustments” he made to his game.

“My form in international cricket has not been up to the mark in the last few series. I made slight adjustments to my batting, and I’m happy because such milestones are once in a lifetime,” Salman said.

“I like to play domestic cricket, and I enjoy coming back to it, as I had spent 10 years here before graduating to the top level. I dedicate this innings to my family. My form has not been good. It was a challenging time, so I dedicate this innings to them,” he added.
