Milan and Roma’s hopes of signing Endrick in January may be fading, after the Brazilian vowed to fight for his place at Real Madrid following his goal at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to MilanNews24, the 20-year-old’s comments after Wednesday’s 4-3 win over Roma cast doubt on a winter move to Serie A. “If I can’t help Real Madrid, I’ll be the first to leave. Being here is difficult, but I’ll fight for it every day,” Endrick said.

Endrick header sparks Real Madrid comeback in Rome

He had played just four minutes all season before José Mourinho sent him on before the hour. He then headed in Arda Güler’s corner to make it 3-3, before Antonio Rüdiger completed the comeback.

Both Italian clubs have been linked with a January loan, reportedly the only deal Real Madrid would consider. Milan tried to sign him in the summer, when Mourinho blocked his exit, and are said to have an advantage through their ties with his agency, Roc Nation. Roma have also been keen, with Wesley reportedly lobbying his Brazil teammate personally.

Endrick impressed on loan at Lyon last season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 16 appearances.

For now, his focus is on Madrid. “Coaches do what’s best for a player and what’s best for the team,” he added. “I’ll work every day to help the team, and that’s what I’ll do for my whole career.”
