Il vicepresidente americano JD Vance ha annunciato un giro di vite contro le frodi legate ai visti H-1B e per stranieri, puntando il dito nello specifico contro Microsoft per aver licenziato 6.000 lavoratori Usa pur avendo assunto personale tramite 6.300 visti H-1B e 3.000 green card. "Facendo due conti, per ogni lavoratore licenziato, Microsoft ne ha assunti uno e mezzo stranieri, ridotto praticamente a condizione di servitù contrattuale", ha detto Vance, accusando l'azienda di frode. "Nessuna azienda ha abusato di questo sistema più di Microsoft. Il visto H-1B è il modo in cui entrano, il programma PERM è il modo in cui restano".
