Osimhen Scores In Third Straight Game As Galatasaray Thrash Awaziem’s Konyaspor 4-0
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen continued his red-hot form, scoring in his third consecutive game as Galatasaray thrashed Konyaspor 4-0 away in the Turkish Süper Lig on Friday night.
Also in action in the game was Osimhen’s national team colleague Chidozie Awaziem who played for 90 minutes in the colours of Konyaspor.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 12th minute* with a header from Gabriel Sara’s cross at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium – just a day after welcoming his second child, Liora Audrey.
It was Osimhen’s ninth league goal in eight appearances in the Turkish topflight this season.

Also on target for Galatasaray were Yunus Akgun (28th minute), Aleksey Batrakov (49th minute) and Rafael Leao from the penalty spot (55th minute).
Galatasaray (25 points) have now extended their lead over Amed Sportif, who will host Eyupspor on Sunday.
Osimhen had initially stayed behind in Istanbul on Thursday after the birth announcement of his child but traveled separately to Konya on Friday to make the squad.
His impressive scoring form will be good news to the Super Eagles coaching crew ahead of next month’s double header 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Tanzania.
The 2023 African Player of the Year missed matchday 1 and 2 against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau due to injury.
The Super Eagles are currently second in the group after winning one (2-1 home win over Madagascar) and losing one (3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau) of their opening two fixtures.
Osimhen has featured in three AFCONs with the Super Eagles (2019, 2023 and 2025).
