Sabah man bites ex-girlfriend and threatens to kill her, gets RM5,800 fine

KOTA KINABALU, Sept 23 — A 35-year-old man was fined RM5,800 after pleading guilty to hurting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her.

Mohd Aideed Husein pleaded guilty before two Magistrates, Dzul Elmy Yunus and Marilyn Kelvin, to separate charges over the incident involving the 30-year-old woman on Sept 15.

Before Dzul Elmy, he was fined RM1,800, in default six months’ jail, under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to the woman outside a shop at Lorong Suria Inanam 1.

Before Marilyn, he was fined RM4,000, in default nine months’ jail, under Section 506 of the Penal Code for threatening to kill the victim at the same place and on the same day.

The court heard that the couple had quarrelled inside a car before Mohd Aideed threatened to kill her if she ended their relationship, and subsequently hit and bit her right arm.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Akaash Singh prosecuted while Mohd Aideed was unrepresented. — Daily Express
