Indians in County cricket — Manav Suthar picks five-wicket haul for Warwickshire

Left-arm orthodox Manav Suthar picked a five-wicket haul on Wednesday as Warwickshire beat Essex by eight wickets in Division One of the County Championship.

After going wicketless in the first innings, Suthar did the heavy lifting in the second, bowling 24 overs and ending with five for 75.

As a result, Warwickshire had a target of 133 runs and it needed just 26 overs to win the contest.

In Division Two, R. Sai Kishore put up rearguard defiance for Gloucestershire against Middlesex, scoring 71 off 131 balls. His essay helped his team keep the first-innings deficit to just 30 runs.

Elsewhere, Nottinghamshire’s Mukesh Kumar went wicketless in the first innings against Sussex, failing to replicate the performance of his compatriot, Jaydev Unadkat, who had picked four for 83 for Sussex earlier in the contest.

Kuldeep Yadav also could not affect any dismissals for Yorkshire against Somerset. The left-arm unorthodox managed 0/31 from seven overs and scored 11 runs in the first innings.

For Surrey, Auqib Nabi too went without a wicket as Glamorgan was parked at 339 for five at the end of second day.
