Court awards IT expert Ndiang’ui Kinyagia Sh5m over police raid

HIGH COURT awards tech entrepreneur Ndiang’ui Kinyagia Sh5m over rights violations during a 2025 police raid on his Kinoo home; bars police, DPP from prosecuting him over the unconstitutional investigative process.

Kinyagia came to the limelight in June 2025 after he went into hiding when he learnt that DCI officers were looking for him following social media posts linked to planned anti-government protests; he later appeared in court and said he had feared for his safety.

Justice Patricia Nyaundi found breach of his rights to privacy, property, dignity, freedom and security of the person and freedom of movement, and barred the Police and DPP from prosecuting him over the unconstitutional investigative process.
