Kylie Kelce has a different request for anyone who visits her four daughters, and it costs nothing. Skip the wrapped box. Bring a story instead. The wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce laid out her thinking on the Tuesday, Nov. 3 episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce. Her guest, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, heard it and said yes on the spot. Clark even has the perfect book in mind, since she wrote it. The two spent much of the chat on why a read-aloud beats a toy.
Kylie Kelce's Simple Rule For Visitors Is Not To Bring Any Gifts For Her Daughters
Kylie and Jason Kelce are raising Wyatt, 7, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 1. That is a wide age range, and Kylie says one habit works across all of it.
“I know one way to my girls' hearts, and really kids, I always tell people you don't need to bring gifts when you come to our house,” Kelce, 34, said. “If you come in, you sit down, you offer to read our girls a book, they will be like forever...”
Clark, 24, did not need convincing. “All right, I'll come read them this book,” she said.
Kylie Kelce opens up about how her daughters are reacting to their family's fame, and admits she wishes they could have a more normal childhood. “The girls think that it's funny that when we go out in public, people say, ‘Are you Jason Kelce?' And then we go back to the house and they say, ‘Are you Jason Kelce?'” They've even started pretending to be fans themselves. “They'll start to go, ‘Oh my gosh, I'm such a huge fan. Can we take a picture?'” But Kylie admits the reality of their fame makes her sad. “It makes me sad that this is their reality. I want them to have as normal of an upbringing as possible.” And sometimes the girls even get protective of their dad. Kylie recalls Wyatt staring down a group of women and saying: “They are not taking a picture with my dad.” Kylie says the girls may find the attention funny, but she thinks they should be left out of it. https://t.co/ft4zEBKQPg

Kelce does not pretend the presents stop. Relatives still turn up with them. “Like genuinely, we have obviously family [that] will come and they'll bring this and they'll bring that,” she said. “But if when you come and you sit down, you read a book, I think it's one of the best ways to connect with kids.”
Caitlin Clark's Book And Her Christmas Eve Tradition
The book Clark offered to read is her own. EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams hit shelves the same Tuesday through Penguin Random House, with illustrations by Adriana Predoi. Clark said it was “super fun to write” and called the artwork “awesome.”
Kelce said reading aloud gives her daughters “the opportunity to ask questions and learn.” She called Clark's new book “the best example of that.”
Clark traced her own love of reading back to childhood. “As a young kid, I grew up always receiving a book on Christmas Eve from my mom,” she shared. “And that kind of started my joy of reading.”
That memory shaped the project. Clark said writing for kids pulled out a side of her that never went away. “I feel like a lot of the creativity and childlike spirit that I still have as I'm 24 have come to life in this,” she said. She added that she is “super passionate about inspiring the next generation.”
So the Kelce girls may soon get a visit from a WNBA star with a picture book in hand. EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, is available wherever books are sold, and new episodes of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, arrive on Thursdays.
