Cardi B's Emotional Birthday Letter For Son Grey Steals The Spotlight As Stefon Diggs Shares Sweet Photos

For almost a year, fans had one guess for Cardi B's baby boy. Brim. Wrong. The rapper finally shared his full name on Wednesday, Nov. 4, his first birthday, and it is Grey Marsean Diggs. She announced it with photos of him in tiny scrubs in front of a "Grey's Anatomy" sign. His father, Washington Commanders wide receiver Stefon Diggs, posted his own set of pictures the same day. The two reportedly split in February, yet both showed up online for the birthday boy. The internet noticed fast, and so did the entire sports world.

Cardi B made sure the joke was easy to catch. Her son wore miniature doctor's scrubs and stood beside that big show sign. The wordplay on his name did the rest.

The photos also settled a long debate. Stefon Diggs had called the baby "Brim" in social media comments more than once, so plenty of fans took it as the real name. It was only a nickname.

The caption read more like a letter than a post. “Happy 1st birthday to Grey Marsean Diggs !! It's only been 1 year since meeting you but it feels like I've had you at my side forever,” she wrote. Then she looked back at her pregnancy. “I carried you through one of the most uncertain high pressured times of my life but having you inside of me through it all gave me a extra strength.” She closed with this: “I was growing you inside of me and at the same time you were giving me life! You gave a new meaning to what a Grey day feels like. You light up my life and every room with your smile your laugh and your precious spirit.”

Diggs went to Instagram Stories. A picnic blanket, a few toys and a car seat set the scene at a park. In another shot, he cradled Grey on a sunbed. Grey also showed up in a brown coat, red beanie and matching red sneakers, and later in a bunny-eared beanie for a mirror selfie. One image carried a single caption: “Gorditoooo .”

The week has been just as full on the football side. Diggs lined up for the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX back in February. By August, he had agreed to a one-year deal with Washington.

October changed his job. Terry McLaurin landed on injured reserve with a knee injury, and the four-time Pro Bowl receiver stepped into the No. 1 spot in the Commanders' passing game.

Grey is Cardi B's fourth child. His half-siblings, Kulture, Wave and Blossom, come from her relationship with rapper Offset. Diggs has five other children.
