Tottenham Hotspur snatched a late 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday as Dominic Solanke scored in stoppage time despite Spurs being reduced to 10 men.
United appeared set for victory after Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute, finishing a move created by Matheus Cunha.
However, Solanke rescued a point for Tottenham in the 90+2nd minute, heading home a cross from Sandro Tonali to silence the home crowd.
Tottenham had created several opportunities before United took the lead but failed to make them count. Solanke missed a clear chance early in the second half, while other promising attacks also went unrewarded.
The visitors’ task became more difficult in the 78th minute when Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off following a confrontation involving Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

The incident sparked a melee involving players from both sides, with Shaw, Bentancur and Tottenham defender Jan Paul van Hecke among those involved in the confrontation.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Tottenham continued to push for an equaliser and found their reward when Solanke converted Tonali’s delivery late in added time.
Mbeumo’s goal had given United the lead after a largely frustrating afternoon in which Tottenham had threatened repeatedly without scoring.
The result denied United all three points at home, while Tottenham earned a draw after recovering from the late setback of Bentancur’s dismissal.
The match ended 1-1, with Solanke’s late header providing the decisive moment at Old Trafford.
