Heated Rivalry is expanding for season 2, as 6 new actors are announced to be joining the cast

The hugely popular ice-skating LGBTQ+ romance drama Heated Rivalry has added even more cast members ahead of its second season, with six names announced.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that one of these actors is Michelle Mylett, who previously starred in the Canadian sitcom Letterkenny.

She will be playing Lisa, a doctor who is also the wife of Wyatt Hayes, a previously announced new character for the season who is played by Robert Naylor.

Animal Control's Gerry Dee will play the Toronto team's head coach Cooper, while The Devil Wears Prada 2's Lauren Chan has been cast as Ottawa team employee Gen.

The Handmaid's Tale's Brendan Morgan will play Zane Boodram, one of the Ottawa team's players, while Fellow Travelers' David Tomlinson has been cast as Toronto player Cody Kent, renamed from the book character Dallas Kent.

Finally, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' Nick Stahl will play Curtis Barrett, father of season two main character Troy, played by Charlie Gillespie.

The second season is adapted from the novel The Long Game, the sixth book in Rachel Reid's Game Changers series, but will also include elements from Role Model and Tough Guy.

Other previously announced new additions include Drag Race's Priyanka, I Saw the TV Glow's Justice Smith, Casualty's Shaheen Jafargholi, Schitt's Creek's Emily Hampshire, and the Resident Evil franchise's Milla Jovovich.

As filming commenced last month, the show's official social media account put out a message asking fans: "Please help us in making it the best it can be. If you happen to come across one of our filming locations, please give our cast and crew the space they need to do what they do best."
