Vithya Ramraj breaks National Record to win 400m hurdles bronze at Asian Games 2026

Vithya Ramraj broke the National Record in the women’s 400m hurdles to win bronze at the Asian Games 2026 on Sunday.

The 28-year-old clocked 54.75 in the final, breaking the NR of 55.42 seconds, jointly held by her and P. T. Usha.

UAE’s Mariam Kareem recorded a Games Record to win gold, finishing ahead of Adelina Zems of Kazakhstan.

The Tamil Nadu hurdler had equalled the record during the heats of the 2022 Hangzhou Games before bagging a bronze in the final.

This is her second medal of the ongoing games after a silver in the mixed 4x400m relay.

Anu Raghavan also recorded a Personal Best time of 55.88 to finish fifth in the final.
