Celebrity Traitors star teases huge banishment scenes after cliffhanger: "It's quite something"

Translate

The Celebrity Traitors left fans furious last week when its second episode cut to the end credits before the players revealed their votes for the first banishment. Now, though, one of its contestants has dropped a strong hint that it'll be more than worth the wait.

Episode two ended on the question of whether Richard E Grant had said enough to convince the Faithful that he is not a Traitor - despite the fact he literally told them all he was one within moments of being selected.

Now, Joanne McNally has said the opening moments of tonight's (8 October) instalment, which viewers have been patiently anticipating for nearly a week, will be "quite something".

On her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast with Vogue Williams, she was discussing Grant when she asked: "Have we held up our little slates with the names on it yet?"

Keen to stop her dropping any spoilers, Vogue told her "no", to which Joanne said knowingly: "Yeah, well that's... that's quite something."

Looking away with a loaded laugh, she added: "Wait until you see what happens there..."

So what exactly happens at that Round Table? Will fans' predictions of a landslide against Grant be correct - or is there another twist coming?

Joanne was seen in last week's episodes believing that Richard is a Faithful, and had joked to Vogue: "I can't say anything but I will say... we know Richard's a Traitor and we know that I'm defending him to the hilt. When I say I have never believed something more than he was a Faithful... He was wild."

She added: "I believe all their [the Traitors'] lies. They look in me in the eye and I believe their lies and then I go out and ride at dawn for them and I make a show of myself."

When Vogue laughed that "it could not be more obvious" that Grant was a Traitor, Joanne insisted: "Vogue, you have not been looked in the eye by Richard E Grant, and told that he's a Faithful!

"You don't know that experience, you don't know how that experience is, he's a really good actor!"

Grant's fellow Traitors are Maya Jama and James Acaster, the latter of whom was recruited at the expense of Amol Rajan in an early twist.

Tonight's episode will presumably also feature the murder of either Professor Hannah Fry or Jerry Hall, the only two who did not secure their safety in last week's Mission.

The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
