Sense and Sensibility sisters Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles hold hands as they lead glamorous arrivals at the London premiere

Daisy Edgar Jones and her on-screen sister Esmé Creed-Miles led the star arrivals at the Sense and Sensibility premiere in Leicester Square on Tuesday evening.

Based on the debut Jane Austen novel, it is a timeless story of two sisters navigating love and heartbreak among the strict social rules of 18th-century Britain.

Daisy, who plays the eldest sister Elinor Dashwood, brought a vampy edge to period dressing as she posed hand-in-hand with her co-star Esmé.

The actress, 28, cut a striking figure in a plunging satin gown with bow detailing on the straps and a slit up the leg, as she led arrivals at the screening. 

Daisy wore her brunette hair in an undone half-up half-down style, while accessorising with a pendant choker. 

Esme, who plays her younger sister Marianne, opted for a statement white skirt and cropped black blazer for their red carpet.

The actresses are reuniting after they first worked together as teenagers on the 2018 film Pond Life.

Fiona Shaw's appearance at the screening was less than conventional as she dropped down to the ground and lay beside the floral display.

The Killing Eve actress made a point of touching and smelling the selection of flowers, while sitting on a patch of astroturf at the event.

Fiona was wearing a blue co-ord with a belt cinched around her waist, teamed with a pair of black slingback heels. 

Ceara Coveney, who plays Lucy Steele in the 2026 film adaptation, looked stunning in a brown lace dress with sheer panelling.

The latest adaptation of Jane Austen's classic epochal story is released in the UK on September 25 and premieres in London on Tuesday, September 15.

Based on the debut novel from the much-admired author, Sense and Sensibility is a timeless story of two sisters navigating love and heartbreak among the strict social rules of 18th-century Britain.

The first trailer faithfully follows Austen's story of the three Dashwood sisters and their mother as they are forced to leave Norland Park, the family estate in Sussex, and move to a modest cottage in distant Devon after the death of their father. 

There, they experience a new life on the fringes of the society they once basked in as well as becoming acquainted with new suitors. 

In Sense and Sensibility, the siblings' opposing inner sensibilities see them approach courting like chalk and cheese, with elder sister Elinor guided by her practical 'head', while Marianne is driven by her passionate 'heart'.

Esme left little to the imagination in a sheer shirt as she ditched her cropped blazer and dramatic full skirt 

These British stars are joined by a pedigree supporting ensemble, including the incomparable Fiona Shaw and Irish actress Caitríona Balfe.

George MacKay and Frank Dillane appear as the sisters' potential suitors, alongside Herbert Nordrum, while promising young talent Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet) is Margaret, the youngest Dashwood.

This version of the classic brings all the yearning and drama fans love to see, as well as plenty of author Austen's trademark sparkling wit – wonderfully interpreted and translated for the screen by writer Diana Reid.

There's also plenty which has been carefully preserved straight from the original novel, with quotes peppered throughout.

Directed by Georgia Oakley, Sense and Sensibility comes from the producers behind 2005’s multi-Oscar-nominated Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, as well as 2020’s dazzling version of Emma with Anya Taylor-Joy.
