Kenya Pipeline Company Receives Rwanda’s Maiden Fuel Cargo At Mombasa Port

The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) marked a significant milestone in regional trade today, hosting the maiden cargo flag-in ceremony for the Rwanda National Energy Company (RNEC) at the KOT2 terminal in Mombasa. The event celebrated the arrival of the MT Sea Wolf, carrying RNEC’s inaugural shipment of 40,000 metric tonnes of fuel.

​The landmark event brought together key regional energy leadership, including Rwanda’s Minister of State for Infrastructure Armand Zingiro, Kenya’s Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, Rwandan High Commissioner to Kenya Janet Obel, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) MD Capt. William Ruto, and KPC Acting CEO/MD Pius Mwendwa.

​This historic delivery highlights KPC’s expanding presence as East Africa’s premier energy gateway while reinforcing both nations’ commitment to regional energy security and integration.
