KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek today said she has ordered an audit of the security standard operating procedures (SOPs) at the Johor school where Form Four student Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairoul Faisal was found dead.

Speaking to reporters in Parliament, Fadhlina said initial investigations indicated the school in Yong Peng had closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed, but none covered the location where Irene’s body was found.

“I have directed the security and safety aspects of the school to be audited thoroughly,” she said.

“This includes entrance control, patrolling, CCTVs, safety protocols compliance as well as the security company’s fulfillment of its obligations on that particular day.”
