Netflix and the Federation of International Football (FIFA) announced on Tuesday it has secured ‌the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2030 to fans in Spain and ‌Andorra.

It will be Netflix’s first ‌broadcast of a ‌major men’s international tournament in Spain, the company said. The 2026 World Cup ‌was broadcast there by national channel RTVE.

“Few events unite people like the World Cup,” says Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix.

“I was in the stands this year as Spain lifted the trophy and witnessed the passion, the pride, the stories — they all become part of a nation’s culture and are remembered for generations. With Spain set to host in 2030, we’re thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix.”

It is part of the streaming platform’s push to show more live sporting events in the upcoming years. It ‌also holds the rights for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, and the 2031 edition in the ‌United States of America and Canada.

“We are pleased to build on our partnership with Netflix as we look ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2030,” adds Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General.

“This will be a special edition of the tournament, and we look forward to working together to bring it to fans across Spain and Andorra. Our shared ambition is to bring fans closer to the game and enable as many people as possible to share in the excitement of the competition.”

When is the FIFA World Cup 2030?

The 2030 FIFA World Cup kicks off June 8, 2030, and ends on July 21, 2030. It will be hosted in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with select matches in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

The edition will also mark 100 years of the quadrennial showpiece.

Will FIFA World Cup 2030 be available for free on Netflix?

No. Though the new deal between FIFA and Netflix would ‌cover all 104 matches, only one match per matchday will be free in Spain.

“As part of the agreement, one match per matchday will be available ‌for free in Spain,” via a national free-to-air broadcaster, Netflix said in its statement.

Where to watch FIFA World Cup 2030 in India?

The FIFA World Cup 2030 will not be available on Netflix in India. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. have the broadcasting rights for the quadrennial tournament in 2030, and are expected to continue the 2026 model for viewers.

The 2030 World Cup is expected to be televised on the Unite8 Sports Network in India, while it could be live-streamed on ZEE5 using a subscription.
