Air force deploys two F-16 jets for patrol over Mae Sot

TAK — 1 November 2026, The Royal Thai Air Force deployed two F-16 fighter jets for an aerial patrol over Mae Sot district and surrounding areas on Sunday, warning residents that they might hear unusually loud aircraft noise and urging them not to panic.

The Ratchamanu Task Force issued a public announcement on behalf of the air force, saying the patrol mission was scheduled to take place at 17:00.

The two F-16 fighter jets were assigned to patrol the airspace over Mae Sot district in Tak province and nearby areas as part of ongoing efforts to monitor and safeguard national air security.

The air force said the operation could cause residents in the area and surrounding communities to hear aircraft noise louder than usual.

The advance warning was issued to prevent misunderstandings and unnecessary alarm among the public.

The air force also urged residents to remain confident in its operations, saying it continued to carry out its duties to monitor the situation, protect public safety and maintain national security.
