Asian Games 2026, Day 3: Indian results on September 21 — How many medals did India win?

India’s Day 3 campaign at the Asian Games was highlighted by shooting, with Himanshu Dhillon winning men’s 10m air rifle silver, Rudrankksh Patil taking bronze, and the Indian trio also securing team silver. The men’s kabaddi side opened its campaign with a 49-24 win over Japan, while the women’s hockey team defeated Indonesia 17-1. India also swept Pakistan 3-0 in both the men’s and women’s table tennis team events, while the men’s badminton team beat Bangladesh 3-0. Suchika Tariyal added an MMA bronze, while Srihari Nataraj finished 10th in the men’s 50m backstroke final.

Here are all the results of the events in which Indians participated in on Day 3 in Aichi-Nagoya:

SWIMMING

• Swimming, men’s 50m backstroke: Srihari Nataraj qualified with 25.37, while Rishabh Das missed out as first reserve; Srihari then finished 10th and last in the final in 25.52, with no medal.
• Swimming, men’s 50m freestyle: Akash Mani (23.43, 26th overall) and Heer Gitesh Shah (23.57, 28th) failed to qualify for the final.
• Swimming, men’s 100m breaststroke: Danush Suresh clocked 1:03.46, finished 22nd overall and did not qualify for the final.
• Swimming, men’s 4x200m freestyle relay: India clocked 7:24.32 to finish ninth overall among 13 teams and missed the final.

BADMINTON

• Badminton, men’s team R16: India beat Bangladesh 3-0, with Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty and Kidambi Srikanth winning the three singles matches to reach the quarterfinals.

BOXING

• Boxing, men’s 70kg R32: Sumit Kundu beat Thailand’s Bunjong Sinsiri 5-0 by unanimous decision to advance to the Round of 16.

MMA

• MMA, women’s traditional -60 kg semifinal: Suchika Tariyal lost to Singapore’s Teo Hui Hoon and settled for bronze, India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in MMA.

HOCKEY

Hockey, women’s Pool B: India defeated Indonesia 17-1, with Deepika, Rutuja Pisal, and Navneet Kaur scoring hat-tricks.

KABADDI

• Kabaddi, men’s Group A: India opened its title defence with a 49-24 win over host Japan after leading 31-9 at half-time.
• Kabaddi, women’s Group A: India beat Bangladesh 42-21.

SEPAKTAKRAW

• Sepaktakraw, men’s team regu Group B: India won the opening regu 2-0 but lost the overall tie 1-2 to Japan after losing the second and third regus.

SHOOTING

• Shooting, men’s 10m air rifle: Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane won team silver with 1890.1; Dhillon then won individual silver with 252.4 and Patil bronze with 230.9.
• Shooting, men’s skeet Day 1: India is sixth in the team standings with 136; Anant Jeet Singh Naruka is 21st (47), Mairaj Ahmad Khan 26th (45) and Bhavtegh Singh Gill 27th (44); no medal decided yet.
• Shooting, women’s skeet Day 1: India is third in the team standings with 132; Raiza Dhillon is ninth (46), Parinaaz Dhaliwal 14th (44) and Maheshwari Chauhan 16th (42); no medal decided yet.

TABLE TENNIS

• Table tennis, women’s team Group F: India beat Pakistan 3-0 to finish the group stage unbeaten and enter the next round.
• Table tennis, men’s team Group F: India defeated Pakistan 3-0 and advanced to the Round of 16.

SOFT TENNIS

• Soft tennis, mixed doubles: Aadhya Tiwari/Jay Meena beat Cambodia 5-0 and Mongolia 5-0, lost 1-5 to South Korea, before going down 2-5 to the Philippines in the Round of 16; no medal.

WUSHU

• Wushu, women’s Changquan final: Nyeman Wangsu score 9.573 to finished 15th in the 16-woman final; no medal.

• Women’s 60kg 1/8 Final: Devi Roshibina beat Khatun Most by WPD

• Men’s 56kg 1/8 Final: Aryan beat Safi Shahzada to enter next round.
