KAJANG, Oct 5 — Puspakom Sdn Bhd today began operations at its new inspection centre in Bandar Teknologi Kajang, with the facility eventually able to handle up to 800 vehicles a day.

The centre, which is being opened in stages, will serve motorists and light commercial vehicle operators in Kajang, Semenyih, Beranang, Bangi and surrounding areas.

Private vehicle inspections began today, while Routine and Re-Routine inspections for light commercial vehicles will be introduced on October 28, followed by Initial and Re-Initial inspections from November 23.

Puspakom said the phased opening was aimed at ensuring operational readiness while providing customers with a smoother inspection experience.

The facility has 10 inspection lanes, split equally between private and commercial vehicles, making it the company’s largest centre dedicated to these categories.

It also features an air-conditioned waiting area and a redesigned interior incorporating Puspakom’s corporate identity for the first time at one of its branches.

Puspakom chief executive officer Mahmood Razak Bahman said the new centre was part of the company’s efforts to expand access to inspection services and keep pace with growing demand in southern Selangor.

“The Kajang branch has been designed to provide greater capacity, smoother customer flow and a more efficient inspection experience while maintaining the high standards of vehicle inspection that Malaysians expect from Puspakom,” he said.

The centre will also be used to develop Puspakom’s inspection technology, with AI-assisted checks covering undercarriage and above-carriage inspections scheduled to begin in November.

Mahmood said the initial AI implementation would focus on collecting data and improving the technology’s capabilities.

The opening follows the closure of Puspakom’s Pandan Mewah branch on Sept 30, with customers previously served there able to use the Kajang centre or other nearby branches, subject to available appointment slots.

The Kajang centre is located at Lot 1A & 1B, Jalan P4/13, Bandar Teknologi Kajang, 43500 Semenyih, and operates from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
