Typhoon Queenie may exit PAR Sunday – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Queenie (international name: Surigae) is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday noon or afternoon, according to the state weather bureau.
“Queenie will move generally northeastward over the majority of the forecast period… [Its] center may exit the [PAR] between noon and afternoon,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its early Sunday morning weather update.
Pagasa reported that Queenie was tracked some 685 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gustiness of 160 kph and moving north-northeast at 15 kph.

Pagasa added that once Queenie exits the PAR, it is expected to accelerate and northeastward towards the sea south of mainland Japan.
