Singer James Blunt has said he was “really happy” that faithfuls Sebastian Croft and Romesh Ranganathan won the 2026 series of The Celebrity Traitors, despite the pair voting to banish him.

The final of the BBC reality gameshow saw Ranganathan wrongly accuse Blunt of being a traitor at the firepit, causing the You’re Beautiful singer to vote to banish again in the final round, which led to Ranganathan and Croft voting him out.

Speaking after the final, Blunt said: “I really enjoyed it. It was intense, like all of them.

“It was coming down to the wire, so it’s like all of them, and there was a curveball in there that completely caught me by surprise, which actually was fantastic gameplay by a person who was no longer acting like a faithful but was actually acting as a true traitor.

“But I was really happy with it, because you know, we’ve got the faithful win.”

Blunt said he never expected to make the final and added that he thought his family would think he was a “bit of an idiot blundering through” when they watched the series.

He added: “I’d hoped I didn’t make it that far. Just I couldn’t, couldn’t find a way out. I was doing everything wrong, and no one was murdering me, and no one was banishing me.”

Blunt said he had no regrets on the show despite his decision to banish again leading to his departure at the final moment.

He added: “I’m thrilled with the end. From the bottom of my heart, thrilled…

“I’ve had moments with everyone and genuinely it’s been really nice hanging out with a very, very varied bunch of people and getting on with all of them.”
