AbdulRazaq unveils book on 50 women’s strides in diplomacy at UNGA

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has co-presented a book, The Female Diplomat, chronicling the contributions and achievements of 50 women who have distinguished themselves in public service, particularly on the global stage.

AbdulRazaq disclosed this in a post shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, saying the presentation took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.

The governor said the book, written by Oluwakemi Amuda, documents the giant strides of women who have contributed to public service and diplomacy despite challenges.

He said the event also provided him with an opportunity to share the experiences of Kwara State with a wider international audience.

AbdulRazaq said, “The occasion offered me another platform to share our beautiful experience in Kwara with a bigger audience

“The stories in ‘The Female Diplomat’ remind us that diplomacy is not only about states and institutions; it is also about people, representation, identity and, against all odds, the courage to occupy spaces where decisions are made.”

AbdulRazaq also expressed appreciation to those who attended the event and offered words of support and solidarity.

He further disclosed that he joined Vice President Kashim Shettima at a meeting with Nigerians living in the diaspora.

AbdulRazaq said he used the occasion to commend Nigerians abroad for their contributions to the country through their work and remittances.

“I commended Nigerians in Diaspora for their hard work and remittances, which continue to help our country in various ways, and for mostly being great ambassadors of our country,” he said.

The governor’s engagements came as world leaders, diplomats and other stakeholders gathered in New York for the UN General Assembly.
