Malaysia Day H-series plate bidding opens tomorrow, numbers from 1 to 9,999 up for grabs

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 — Bidding for the special H-series vehicle registration numbers in conjunction with Malaysia Day will open on Wednesday and run until Sept 20, offering numbers from 1 to 9,999.

Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said bids can be placed through the JPJeBid app, with the results to be announced on Sept 21.

He said the H series is special as the last single-letter series JPJ will offer, while also symbolising harmony in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebrations.

“This series is very special, and the public is encouraged to take this opportunity to bid for a number, as JPJ will not be offering any more single-letter series,” he said at a press conference after the launch of the series here yesterday. 

Aedy Fadly said the H series differed from taxi registrations, where the letter H must be accompanied by a state registration letter.

“For example, taxis in Perak are registered with the letters ‘HA’, with ‘A’ representing the state registration letter,” he added. — Bernama
