Teams are in for Demons vs Blues

(AFL.com.au)

There are no late changes for either side, and you can check out both lineups above.

The Demons have a welcome back and a potential farewell in the same team-list.

Jack Viney is back after 352 days out, Achilles surgery and a back injury. He came back with a goal and 10 clearances in the VFL and gets his crack for the do-or-die wildcard game.

Also in for Melbourne is Jake Melksham, who this week announced he would retire at season's end.

Young defender Xavier Taylor is the other in, to play game three of his career.

The outs are Matthew Jefferson (knee), key defender Jake Lever (toe) and Christian Salem (omitted).

It's a simpler equation for Carlton, with one in, one out.

Wade Derksen is omitted, and in comes Nick Haynes.

Welcome to wildcard footy - again!

By Andrew McGarry

Hello, good evening and welcome to ABC's live online coverage of the AFL wildcard round.

Last night's game may have raised expectations a little too high, but if we get anything like the finish to Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs, they may have to peel us all off the ceiling once again!

Tonight we have a fascinating encounter in prospect, back at the MCG with Melbourne, smarting after missing out on the top six, taking on a Carlton unit mentored by new permanent coach Josh Fraser.

Can the Blues keep their crazy comeback run going, or will Steven King and Co get back on track and lock in a place for Melbourne in the last eight?

My name is Andrew McGarry, and along with my friend and colleague Dean Bilton, I'll be bringing you tonight's action.
