- Citigroup (C) is said to have taken the top spot for underwriters in global initial public offerings for the year through September after working on some of the biggest share sales in Asia and the US.
- Citi was just ahead of Goldman Sachs Group (GS) in the league tables, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
- Goldman was the top underwriter globally for equity offerings, a broader measure that also includes deals such as block trades and follow-on share sales, the data show.
- Citi advised on several major transactions, including the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.’s $2.4B listing in Mumbai in September, one of the largest in the country’s history. In July, it served as lead global coordinator for SK Hynix’s (SKHY) $26.5B Nasdaq listing, the largest U.S. share sale ever by a foreign company. Citi also played a role in SpaceX’s (SPCX) landmark $86B IPO in June.
