8 Garrett Moore
Played by Gregory Jbara, Garrett Moore was a part of the entirety of Blue Bloods 14-season run on CBS. Serving as the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, Garrett was one of Frank Reagan's (Tom Selleck) closest confidants and advisors. While he was a former reporter, Garrett's allegiance was to the NYPD as the series continued on, and as became Frank's de facto chief of staff, Garrett was an honest sounding board for the Reagan family patriarch.
While Garrett was a great person for Frank to turn to when he needed help ironing out an idea, he wasn't always the most agreeable person on Frank's staff. Pushing back against his ideas and challenging his decisions on how the department should be run, Garrett was a great way to make sure that Frank was on the right path throughout Blue Bloods. In Boston Blue, despite his ties to the NYPD, Garrett could jump in to offer Danny a bit of perspective.
7 Reverend Darnell Potter
Joining the series during Blue Bloods season 2, Reverent Darnell Potter (Ato Essandoh) was one of the most memorable early guest stars on the series outside of the Reagan family themselves. Introduced as both a community activist and a preacher, Potter clashed with Frank during his early episodes on Blue Bloods after allegations of police misconduct came to light, as well as accounts of racial profiling.
Over time, Potter's character deepened, and he became more than an adversary for the family, especially following the tragic murder of his son. Frank and Potter found common ground over their shared experiences with loss, which led to the pair being able to bond and work together in a different light. Potter could return to the franchise on Boston Blue in a way that brings up similar issues to his early days on Blue Bloods, challenging Danny's assumptions this time around.
6 Anthony Renzulli
Another earlier member of the Blue Bloods family, Anthony "Tony" Renzulli (Nicholas Turturro) appeared in the first few seasons of Blue Bloods before moving away from the series. As Jamie Reagan's (Will Estes) first training officer, the character was one of massive importance in bringing Jamie into the fold of the NYPD, a task he didn't take lightly. Renzulli taught Jamie the realities of police work, and understood the unique pressures that came with being a Reagan.
While Tony's mentorship was a huge part of his role on the series, it wasn't the only thing he offered during his time on Blue Bloods, as his character had perspective on the late Joe Reagan, which perpetuated a sense of family. 5 Sydney Davenport

Sydney was Jamie's fiancée during the first season of the series, and while her character was someone that didn't feel like she was a Reagan family outcast, she also didn't entirely fit in with the rest of them, either.

4 Maggie Gibson
A character that only appeared in a few episodes of the series across its later seasons, Maggie Gibson (Callie Thorne) is someone who'd be interesting to see make a return to the franchise on Boston Blue. Maggie, a mutual friend of Danny and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), was a psychic medium who would come in to offer counsel on cases from time to time despite a sense of skepticism from the series overall.
While Maggie helped Danny in the wake of his wife, Linda's (Amy Carlson), death, her presence was more about helping Danny to move through his grief in a way that made sense and helped keep the character moving forward. Maggie could be a fascinating part of Boston Blue in a recurring role, as she could provide character development while revisiting a quirky part of Blue Bloods' history.
3 Mayor Carter Poole
As a large part of the early years of Blue Bloods, Mayor Carter Poole (David Ramsey) was a recurring political figure who found himself working both with the Reagan family and against them at times. As mayor, Poole was responsible for balancing the public's expectations and the political realities of what was happening in New York City, which put a lot of pressure on his relationship with Frank. Making the city feel like a living, breathing space, Poole's appearances were interesting.

An early standout on Blue Bloods, Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito) was a massive part of the show's early seasons as Danny Reagan's original partner. A popular recurring character who returned in the final seasons of Blue Bloods, Jackie was able to match Danny's intensity while, at times, outsmarting him and providing a more well-rounded perspective on their work. Jackie exited the series with her character's health at risk, and eventually was said to become a Chief of Police in a Long Island town.
While Esposito made the occasional guest appearance on Blue Bloods as it continued, the fact that she was one of the earliest cast members to exit the series was always tough on fans. Seeing Jackie make her way to Boston Blue to see her former partner and, potentially, help out on a case for old time's sake would be a great way to honor her character.
1 Nicky Reagan-Boyle
A Reagan in her own right, Nicky Reagan-Boyle (Sami Gayle), is one of the most recognizable members of the show's massive extended family, and someone who deserves their own turn on Boston Blue. As Erin Reagan's (Bridget Moynahan) daughter, Nicky was able to bring a young, fresh perspective into the series that often challenged the old guard of her parents and grandparents. After pursuing her education and moving to San Francisco, her time on Boston Blue faded.
