ISKANDAR PUTERI, Oct 9 — Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) recorded a stylish and commanding victory by crushing PKR Svay Rieng FC 6-0 in Group B of the Asean Club Championship (ACC) 2026/2027 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, here last night.

JDT started fiercely and almost opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute, but striker Jairo da Silva’s attempt after receiving a pass from Oscar Arribas only rattled the crossbar, before winger Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi’s follow-up shot also went wide.

The visiting Cambodian club’s goalkeeper, Dara Vireak, also successfully tipped away a long-range shot by Molina Martinez in the 36th minute.

The Southern Tigers’ relentless attacks finally paid off when Arif Aiman broke the deadlock in the 39th minute through a powerful shot from outside the penalty box, courtesy of an assist by winger Marcos Guilherme.

Resuming in the second half, JDT further solidified their lead when Marcos Guilherme put his name on the scoresheet as the second goalscorer in the 51st minute after finishing off a pass from Jairo da Silva.

JDT defender Kevin Medina added to the visitors’ misery ten minutes later with an easy header to score the third goal.

The visitors attempted to mount a comeback to narrow the deficit through PKR Svay Rieng FC striker Martins Junior in the 64th minute, but his shot was cleanly saved by JDT goalkeeper Ahmad Syihan Hazmi Mohamed.

Striker Shahab Zahedi further compounded the visitors’ woes by capitalising on a chance inside the penalty box for JDT’s fourth goal in the 70th minute, before Muhammad Daniesh Amiruddin stole the spotlight with two quickfire goals in the 75th and 76th minutes.

The 6-0 scoreline remained until the final whistle. — Bernama
