Godzilla's Next Appearance Confirmed With Mind-Blowing Title

Translate

Shaun Corley has been with ScreenRant for over 5 years, and is currently the Coordinator for PR and Outreach for the Comics Team.

Godzilla’s next appearance has been confirmed, and it has the wildest title imaginable. It has never been a better time to be a Godzilla fan: Godzilla Minus Zero, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit film, opens in theaters in less than a month. Another Kong/Godzilla movie is also in the works. But now, IDW Publishing is throwing down the gauntlet with a new mega event uniting all corners of Godzilla’s universe.

Despite debuting in 1954, and becoming an overnight sensation in both Japan and the United States, Godzilla did not arrive in American comics until the late 1970s, courtesy of Marvel Comics. The King of the Monsters had a two-year run at the House of Ideas, rubbing shoulders with Marvel icons such as Nick Fury. Other publishers, such as Dark Horse Comics, also took a shot at producing Godzilla comics. IDW obtained the license for Godzilla over a decade ago, and has produced some of the best books featuring the Big G and his pals.

In 2025, IDW took its Godzilla line to the next level, introducing the character’s Kai-Sei era. Named for a type of energy that reanimates Godzilla, IDW’s Kai-Sei era has been a hit with fans, producing not only a flagship Godzilla title, but ancillary books that explore the larger universe. Titles such as Starship Godzilla and Deadzone have expanded the kaiju’s lore to great acclaim. Now, nearly two years after the Kai-Sei era kicked off, it enters a new phase with an awesome-sounding event.

IDW Has Announced Godzilla vs Everything

Godzilla Vs Everything COVER

At New York Comic-Con this past weekend, IDW announced Godzilla vs Everything, dropping March 2027, which will be written by Tim Seeley and drawn by Fero Pe. IDW’s official description for Godzilla vs Everything reads as follows:

From New York Times bestselling writer Tim Seeley and acclaimed artist Fero Pe comes GODZILLA VS EVERYTHING, the first four-issue crossover event from the celebrated Kai-Sei era line of comics at IDW Publishing. Since the Kai-Sei era made its unforgettable debut in 2025, everything in the connected universe of comics - GODZILLA, STARSHIP GODZILLA, DEADZONE, and THE HORROR OF GODZILLA - has been building up to this jaw-dropping blockbuster. Godzilla has achieved its most powerful form yet and has its sights set on destroying the world. Can the combined forces of Earth - and beyond - stop the King of the Monsters, or will Godzilla finally destroy the world?

In addition, IDW has released Pablo Tunica’s cover of Godzilla vs Everything’s first issue, which is shared above.

The creators behind Godzilla’s Kai-Sei era have been building to Godzilla vs Everything since the line began. Writer Tim Seeley was quoted in an official statement as saying:

When I started work with editor Jake Williams and IDW on GODZILLA, the big pitch was this was going to play like a universe of titles, but also as a universe of characters...From the beginning, the goal was they'd all come together at some point as friends and/or enemies in a proper comic universe event title. Well, we're here, and all the meticulous plotting of our creative crew leads to a wild, weird, terrifying crossover comic that puts Godzilla, the kaiju and our cast through every epic story beat you've ever wanted.

The road to Godzilla vs Everything begins this month in Starship Godzilla: Invasion X #1, Godzilla: Revenge of the Dead Zone and Godzilla #13. The buildup continues until Godzilla #17, the final issue of the series.

Godzilla's Kai-Sei Era Embodies Everything Great About The Kaiju

The Kai-Sei Era Is Loaded With Kaiju Action And Social Commentary

Godzilla Vs Everything Character Sketch

Godzilla debuted over 70 years ago, and continues to find new fans in every generation of moviegoers, attracted to not only the kaiju spectacle, but also the deeper themes the franchise explores. Each era of Godzilla's history, be it the Showa, Hisei or Millennium periods, was full of giant monsters and all-out battles, as well as human drama and social commentary.

IDW’s Kai-Sei era is firmly grounded in the best Godzilla traditions.

IDW’s Kai-Sei era is firmly grounded in the best Godzilla traditions. The Kai-Sei period has lore-expanding books such as Starship Godzilla and more grounded, down-to-Earth titles such as The Horror of Godzilla. Finally, Deadzone shows the human side and the aftermath of Godzilla’s rampage. The creators behind the Kai-Sei era have created an entirely new universe within the Godzilla franchise, and fans are all the better for it.

And now, IDW is releasing Godzilla vs Everything. The culmination of everything the Kai-Sei era has been working towards, Godzilla vs Everything promises to be the most unhinged era in the kaiju’s history. Godzilla has achieved his ultimate form, putting the entire universe in danger, and now a ragtag group of heroes must come together to stop him in a bold new event from IDW.

Godzilla Vs Everything is on sale March 2027 from IDW Publishing!
