Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight date confirmed

An official fight date for the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight has been confirmed in an official statement.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in the ring after their long-awaited heavyweight showdown was officially confirmed for Friday, December 11, 2026.

The two former heavyweight world champions will face each other at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, bringing an end to years of negotiations and speculation over one of British boxing’s most anticipated fights.

The bout will be streamed live globally on Netflix, with subscribers able to watch the event at no additional cost. An official start time has yet to be announced, although Principality Stadium has confirmed that the main event is scheduled to take place in the early hours of the morning following a full night of boxing.

Fury and Joshua have been two of the leading figures in the heavyweight division for more than a decade but have never previously fought professionally.

Fury enters the contest with a professional record of 36 wins, two defeats and one draw, including 25 knockouts, while Joshua holds a 30-4 record with 27 knockout victories.

The fight was officially announced by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation. The Ring will collaborate with Dana White to promote the event.

The announcement also confirms a UK venue following weeks of uncertainty surrounding where the blockbuster contest would be staged. Cardiff's Principality Stadium ultimately secured the event, setting the stage for the first professional meeting between the two British heavyweights.

Fury and Joshua are scheduled to come face-to-face at a press conference in London on September 30, when the build-up to the December showdown will formally begin. Details of the undercard are expected to be announced at a later date.
