  • Meta Platforms (META) has developed a ‌prototype humanoid robot in collaboration with the Chinese startup Fourier and is already working on a second version, The Information reported on Saturday, citing people familiar with the initiative.
  • The roughly 106-pound humanoid identified internally as Max was built in just three months, according to the report. The initiative comes as the Facebook owner doubles down on its efforts to develop robots that people can use in their homes.
  • The goal is to unveil a more polished future product at its robotics division that the social media firm could eventually launch commercially, one of the people said. However, no launch target has been set yet, they added. Meta (META) didn’t immediately respond to a request for comments.
