Ashley Blaine Featherson-Jenkins & Christina Elmore Launch Tomorrow/Today, Acquire ‘Black Girl, Jump’ For TV Development

EXCLUSIVE: Actor-producers Ashley Blaine Featherson-Jenkins & Christina Elmore are making it official: with the pre-emptive acquisition of TV rights to Black Girl, Jump, a young adult horror novel from Charlene Thomas, they announce the launch of their new production banner, Tomorrow/Today.

Featherson-Jenkins and Elmore are on a mission, per the former, “to center voices that have been siloed and celebrate talent that’s been sidelined.” They launched Tomorrow/Today — quietly, in 2025 — after deciding they were no longer interested in waiting for permission to make the art they craved.

“The name says it plainly: no day is promised, so tomorrow has to be today, and bold stories that are worth telling should be made now instead of someday,” Featherson-Jenkins said

Elmore said the duo aims “to elevate artists and storytellers with urgent stories they just can’t shake.”

Tomorrow/Today’s first major acquisition, Black Girl, Jump, is billed as Bunny meets Get Out. It’s a surreal speculative novel centered on a popular cosmetic that makes all girls shine, except for Black girls. That is, until Bryn — the only Black girl invited to attend an exclusive summer retreat — discovers a skin-boiling river in the woods that makes her sparkle, too, and reveals the lengths the girls and the town will go to in order to steal her shine.

The novel, from the author of Seton Girls and It’s You Every Time, is slated for publication by Dutton on June 8, 2027.

Featherson-Jenkins is best known as Joelle in Netflix’s Dear White People, and co-created web series Hello Cupid with Lena Waithe. She also hosts OWN’s podcast Trials to Triumphs and has appeared in Run the World, Grand Crew, Ghosts and the documentary Black Barbie. She is repped by Vault Entertainment and Fox Rothschild.

Elmore was a five-season regular on TNT’s The Last Ship and played Marie in Lena Waithe’s Twenties. She received an NAACP Image Award nomination for a guest turn on HBO’s Insecure and was a lead in HBO Max’s The Girls on the Bus. She is repped by Gersh, OPE Partners and Hansen, Jacobsen, Teller.

Author Thomas is represented by IAG and Ann Rose at Marsal Lyon Literary Agency (formerly of The Tobias Literary Agency at the time of sale).
