Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian military Spokesman Maj. Gen. Muhammad Nas confirmed the death of retired Adm. Widodo Adi Sutjipto, a former commander-in-chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) on Sunday.

"We are deeply saddened by his passing," Nas told reporters in Jakarta.

Nas said Widodo, the first Indonesian military commander-in-chief from the Navy, would be buried at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in Jakarta on Sunday.

"The military funeral will take place at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery today at 1:30 p.m. local time," he said.

Nas urged the public to pray for Widodo, who previously served as coordinating minister for political, legal, and security affairs.

"Let us pray together that he may have a blessed end," Nas said.
