WWE has booked Chelsea Green to defend her WWE Women's Championship against Roxanne Perez on SmackDown, and this puts her title reign at risk just before Crown Jewel. Perez is a member of The Judgment Day, so she will get a chance to win her first singles world championship on the main roster. Also, this defense could change WWE's plans for the upcoming premium live event, where Green is scheduled to face Liv Morgan. If Green loses on SmackDown, she may be left without the title and Perez could take her place against Morgan. So the match carries consequences beyond Friday's show.

Roxanne Perez Gets a Shot at Chelsea Green's Championship

Perez has earned a title opportunity on the blue brand. But she has to get past the reigning champion first, if she wants to claim that first singles world title on the main roster.

The two women recently met on the Tuesday episode of RAW. Green teamed up with IYO SKY to face Perez and her Judgment Day partner Raquel Rodriguez, and Green and SKY got the win.

Now Perez is getting one more opportunity against the champion, this time in a singles match. A tag win gave Green momentum, but tag result and singles result are not the same thing.

Perez has the technical skills, aggression and experience to challenge Green. Still, taking a title from the current champion won't be easy. Green has found ways to survive difficult matches before, and she needs another strong performance to keep her championship.

Chelsea Green's Crown Jewel Plans Could Be at Risk

Green is also scheduled to face Women's World Champion Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel, and that match now depends on what happens during her SmackDown title defense.

If Perez wins the championship, she could replace Green in the planned showdown with Morgan.

Because of this, Green has two things at stake: her title, and her place in the Crown Jewel match.

WWE hasn't confirmed any change to the planned Crown Jewel lineup. For now Green must get through Perez on SmackDown if she wants to retain the championship and stay in line for Morgan.

The result could also affect the direction of the women's division going into Crown Jewel, with Perez having a chance to claim her first main-roster singles world title. Stay tuned for more updates.
